Forex Trading in India

As an Indian you can trade in forex derivative on NSE. Mainly currency futures and currency options. These are different then CFD traded through a Forex dealer in International markets. Forex trading in India is not too old. It start with currency futures trading on NSE in Aug-2008 with only USDINR currency pair.
Later in Oct-2010 three more currency futures were introduced EURINR, GBPINR, JPYINR. Same, month USDINR currency option trading also started. However, forex trading in India was still lagging behind as there was no cross currency pair.
Finally, in Feb-2018 NSE introduced three cross currency futures and options – EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDJPY. So, now it’s time to learn forex trading and trade as we have few currency pairs to trade.

Trading Hours on NSE: Mon-Fri (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Forex Trading in International Markets

Other option to trade forex is trading with an international forex dealers or ECN. There are more flexible, almost all currency pairs. Traded over the counter, so no liquidity risk.
You can trade Mon-Fri 24 hours open. Mostly, traded on meta trader 4 or meta trader 5.

However, it is not legal for resident Indians to trade in overseas market as per FEMA and RBI guidelines. So, if your friend or family are living outside India you can trade in their account. Also, any non resident can trade forex in International markets.
